Prestoungrange Murals

Prestoungrange Murals show the history of the area. The Mural Trail starts at the Gothenburg Community hub. The totem pole is where the first murals are. The mural trail winds around the streets of Prestonpans its furthest point is at the old Cockenzie power station on the coast road. There are over 30 Murals to see 22 of the murals are below. Can you find the ones I missed. They depict characters of history include John Knox, The Witches Gate, Sir Walter Scott and Robert Burns’ Tam O Shanter. You can also see a mural on a memorial plaque in the old Prestongrange Church yard on the wall of the church. The stone tablet is to the memory of the 8th Baron of Prestoungrange who held the title, “Lord Advocate of Scotland” from 1746-1754. While searching the streets for the murals you will see many other interesting things. See the Prestonpans page for more, including the Burns Memorial Garden and the Battle Site and memorials of the Battle of Prestonpans .
