The Icelandic National Anthem
The Icelandic national anthem was composed and written in 1874 at 15 London Street Edinburgh by Reverend Matthías Jochumsson wrote a poem based on a biblical text and the Icelandic millennial anniversary. Matthías Jochumsson met up with Sveinbjörn Sveinbjörnsson in Edinburgh, who compose music for his poem. The anthem was adopted for the nation and has been used since 1918 when Iceland proclaimed sovereignty.

Anne Redpath (Artist)
Anne Redpath OBE, ARA was a Scottish artist born in Galashiels in the Scottish Borders she went to Edinburgh College of Art and travelled in Europe 1895–1965 She became as an associate of The Royal Scottish Academy in 1947. She received an OBE in the honours list in 1955 for her work.
