East Lothian Area Scotland

East Lothian Area is the district that has a coastline from Musselburgh to Thorntonlock with many golden sand beaches, championship Golf courses, campsites, caravan parks, Hotels bed and breakfast accommodation cottages and farm houses. you can stay for a short weekend or longer with many good restaurants and pubs or the major large supermarkets if self catering. The only thing I can not promise is the weather. There are many activities on and off the water for all ages. The ideal holiday destination without the high cost of travel and exchange rates. 

The larger Towns in the East Lothian area are Musselburgh, North Berwick and Dunbar There are great bus services and a train service that links them all to Edinburgh. The Towns of the East Lothian area are full of history from where the first Golf Open Championship was played to Historic battle sites were the Scots won and lost against the English. There are many castles and baronial mansions with historic stories, Visit Prestonpans for a small historic town with a mass of history going back to the 11th century. East Lothian has the home of Robert Burns mother, the place Mary Queen of Scots was arrested. The birth places of John Muir, John Knox, Rev John Witherspoon and King Alexander II.
