Connel Argyllshire

Connel in Argyll at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean at the mouth of Loch Etive has spectacular water falls (The Falls of Lora). This only happens at certain times of the tidal cycle. The Connel Bridge over the mouth of Loch Etive is a cantilever bridge which was opened in 1903 and was the second longest rail bridge in Britain the first being the Forth Rail Bridge. In 1966 the Connel Bridge was converted to a road bridge with a walkway.
