Callander

Callander is a small town in the Trossachs of Scotland. The visitor centre gives more detail on the area where Rob Roy MacGregor a descendent from the MacDonald Clan was once a notorious bandit come Folk hero of his time. Rob Roy MacGregor was born on the shores of Loch Katrine in Glengyle in 1671. This is the gateway to the Highlands a scenes of natural beauty. At Auchenlaich Cairn close to the Keltie Burn Auchenlaich Farm is the largest stone age chambered cairn ever found in Scotland. Callander is set on the river Teith and is access to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs national park.
