Auldgirth (Ellisland Farm)
Robert Burns Built the farm for his wife Jean Armour in 1788 being their first family home. The house is set by the banks of the River Nith. Ellisland Farm is still as Burns would have lived in it and spent hours writing works as Auld Land Syne being the one known by most. Ellisland Farm is now a museum and is like a shrine to Robert Burns, midway between his birthplace and his final resting place.
