Argyll and Bute

Argyll on the west coast of Scotland which was where the first capital of Scotland was situated in circa 500 A D. The Irish (Scottish) settlers came over from Ireland and established the Kingdom of Dalriada with the capital Dunadd. The first King being Kenneth MacAlpine Kilmartin area has a magnificent prehistoric landscape with standing stones and other historic sites from circa 3000 B.C. They is said to be more standing Stones in Argyll than in the rest of Britain.
