Ancrum | Scottish Borders | Waterloo Monument

The Waterloo monument was originally erected in 1817 a memorial to the Battle of Waterloo 1815. However the monument collapsed and a further monument was built circa 1822. The best access is from the Harestanes Visitor Centre at the foot of the hill (Peniel Heugh). There is a walkway to the Waterloo Monument he monument which is not open to the public.
